1) Why did the people behind Iceberg Press set it up? Iceberg states they exist to do things differently. To usher in a new age for magazines and media brands. The also go on to say how 'The world of magazines has never been more vibrant and innovative, but you wouldn't know it from the average newsstand today. We aim to bridge that gap. Front cover 1) What do the typefaces used on the front cover suggest to an audience? The typeface used on the front cover suggests that Oh Comely offers a personal experience for the reader and that it is an easy going magazine. The use of cursive font also suggests that it isn't as conventional as other mainstream magazines. 2) The words under the title introduce the content and topics addressed. What do these suggest about the potential audience of  Oh Comely ? The words 'stories/film/music/fashion/mischief/ideas' highlight how this magazine focuses on a number of different topics, also showing the alternative style that Oh Comely has. It provides an alternative to the ‘pile-it-high-sell-it-cheap’ aesthetic of mainstream magazines for young women, and this is why it has carved a loyal niche of fans. It is a breath of fresh air for a creative audience desperate to find something that speaks to them directly in an accessible, intelligent and interesting voice. 2) How do the print circulation/readership statistics for  Oh Comely  compare to  Men's Health ? Men's Health: Language and Representation

1) Write an analysis of the media language choices on the cover of Men's Health - e.g. colour scheme, typography, language, photographic codes etc. The colour scheme of this magazine is mainly black and blue which is usually regarded as more of a masculine colour. One of the cover lines for this magazine is, 'Blast body fat', the violent verb 'blast' further reinforces how this could be seen as a masculine magazine as men are usually represented to be dominant and full of strength. Another word used on a cover line is 'demolish' which shows how this magazine is aimed at men because of all of these masculine references. In terms of the central image, Men's Health purposely use a very muscular male figure as a way to show the readers what they should be aspiring towards.
