Create a new blogpost called 'Audience theory 2 - blog tasks' and answer the following questions: 1) Social learning theory has been criticised for simplifying the causes of violence in society. Do you think the media is responsible for anti-social behaviour and violence? A lot of the time the media can be at blame for violent behaviour as there are certain films and TV shows that are centred around violence and some younger people can be heavily influenced by this and this then can lead to the child committing a crime  2) How is social learning theory relevant in the digital age? Are young people now learning behaviour from social media and the internet? Give examples. 1) Read this  Mail Online article about the effects of videogames . How does this article link to the hypodermic needle model? -This article links to the hypodermic needle model as it explains how students consecutively played shooting games and whether it had a negative or positive effect on them . Questions like, do video games lead to aggression  2) How does coverage of the Talk Talk hacking case (see Daily Mail front page below) link to the hypodermic needle model? Why might someone criticise this front page?  The first page is a good example of the hypodermic needle theory. The use of 'Son of single mother' in the article gives a good reason why a child would hack a phone giant to help solidfy that without a male parental figure in a family it will fall apart. 1) Give an example from film or television that uses Todorov's narrative structure of equilibrium, disequilibrium and new equilibrium.  An example of Todorov's narrative structure of equilibrium is the film 'Taken'  The equilibrium of the film is how at the start the daughter is really excited about going on a trip to France with her friend and is finally given permission from her unwilling father and leaves to travel. The disequilibrium  is i ntroduced is when the girl and her friend get to there hotel and the man that gave them a ride there takes part in invading the girls' room and kidnapping them to use them for sex trafficking and Liam Neeson has to track them down and rescue them. The new equilibrium is when Liam Neeson kills the antagonist and saves his daughter and her friend and brings them back home safely 2) Complete the activity on page 1 of the Factsheet: find a  clip  on YouTube of the opening of a new TV drama series (season 1, episode 1).
