Evaluation

1) Save your finished Photoshop magazine cover as a JPEG image and upload it to your evaluation blogpost.

2) Write an evaluation of your work: have you succeeded in your brief to create a new, original edition of an existing magazine?
I believe that I partly succeeded in making a new, original edition of an existing magazine as it takes some key conventions but I use them effectively for my own magazine cover. I think my magazine gives off a serious tone for the audience, considering this is a GQ style magazine I had to make it appeal to a certain audience which would be tricky because of my lack of knowledge when it comes to this magazine, but I am hoping to deepen what I know of this magazine and this task was a great way to see where my understanding is at. I was hoping to get more cover lines in talking about a wider range of things but I couldn't come up with one that would fit what I am trying to do so next time I'll have to properly understand how I want to execute this correctly.



3) Put your cover alongside a couple of genuine covers of your chosen magazine. How professional is your work alongside genuine examples?I think my cover looks very professional when put next to some other examples as you can see some resemblance in the placement of cover lines. I also use a similar colour scheme in my magazine making my work more authentic and easily mistaken for a professional front cover for a top magazine company. I took the idea from the Pharrell cover where his name is at the bottom to use on mine as I think it is a nice inclusion to make it stand out more.
4) What is the strongest aspect of your work?
I think my strongest aspect was the overall design with how I used different colour schemes and the placement of the cover lines as well as the inclusion of things like the barcode and Issue number which may seem like little things but are quite important.

5) What is the weakest aspect of your Photoshop magazine cover? 
I think I could've come up with more diverse cover lines that talk about different and deeper aspects of the magazine as for some people they may seem a bit repetitive. 

6) What would you do differently if you completed this assignment again?
I would most definitely make sure to put some deeper research into magazine cover lines in order to make mine more authentic and to also deepen my knowledge which could help me in future projects. I would also have a wider range of cover lines that would be able to draw audiences in a lot more effectively because i is currently a bit bland.
